My Student Shadow VC for A Day

Published

This morning the shadow Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth Gabeya and I hosted a team of consultants from Travaco Ltd., a company from Mauritius, led by Mr. Beenunula Eyenunula. The team made a presentation to the Top Management of the University on venture capital, asset management, financial and investment modelling, and others. We agreed to partner with Travaco Ltd. to develop modules for training various categories of public and private enterprise leaders in Uganda and the region. This is timely for unlocking Uganda’s investment landscape.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe and President of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center signing Memorandum of Understanding as other officials witness

I signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the President of the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center at Sun Yat-sen University. We have agreed to collaborate in advancing ophthalmology at our two institutions. Remarkably, one in every six ophthalmologists in China is a graduate of the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, making it a leading global research hub in this field. I look forward to the fruits of our collaboration.
