Ladies and Gentlemen: To set the stage for this Webinar, I invite us all to watch this brief video by the World Bank Group on investing in Higher Education in Africa.

Africa critically needs high-end Science, Technology and Innovation capacity to achieve its development goals enshrined in Agenda 2063: the Africa We Want. This will require putting in place the Centres of Excellence highlighted in the World Bank documentary and other education and skill development infrastructures. To achieve this we must have the foundations right and interconnectedness across the education value chain. Hence, this Webinar seeks to address the fundamentals for transforming education across the educational value chain in Africa. Why? Because, Education, Science, Technology and Innovation are the fundamentals for development of any nation globally. Indeed no nation has development without the requisite skilled human resource, backed by a strong science culture yet this is a key weakness across our continent. This is recognized in the call for Action to achieve Our Africa Agenda 2063. We need collaborative action to build our Science, Technology and Innovation Capacity.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13^thDecember 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
