The Integrated Biorepository of H3Africa Uganda (IBRH3AU), along with other H3Africa biorepositories is conducting a survey to assess and understand stakeholders’ knowledge of biorepositories, their willingness to donate biospecimens, and factors that influence such decisions. As part of the survey, data on socio-demographic characteristics such as age, gender, education, marital status, knowledge of biorepositories, knowledge of the ethics of biorepositories, perception of biorepositories, types of samples respondents may be willing to donate to the Human Health and Hereditary Africa (H3Africa) biorepositories should the samples be shared for research purposes and so, will be collected from respondents using a self-administered questionnaire. All data collected will be de-identified and unique identifiers assigned to safeguard the confidentiality of participants.

No risk is envisaged in connection with this study, while study participants may benefit from any training that may be organized to improve stakeholders’ knowledge of biorepository operations or governance. The general public may learn about the presence of H3Africa Biorepositories within the different regions of Africa and how to access their services.
