Makerere University has demonstrated her readiness to fully participate in the 11th Edition of the NCHE Annual Higher Education Exhibition; a three-day 21st – 23rd March 2019, event being held at the Lugogo Show Grounds. Exhibiting institutions have been allocated stalls in the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Exhibition Hall.

Organised by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) under a theme: Mainstreaming Information and Communication Technology: exploitation of social media for higher education delivery and management, the 11th Edition aims at encouraging Institutions of Higher Education to use social media to enhance their academic roles.
Makerere University through the College of Education and External Studies is showcasing how lecturers have utilised WhatsApp to conduct lectures, group work and online discussions. The application also enables an intensive interaction between lectures and students and students with fellow students.

Additionally, the College of Computing and Information Sciences is showcasing one of its outstanding innovations; the KASEKE PROJECT, an alcohol breath analyser instrumental in detecting the percentage of alcohol content in the human body.
According to Mr. Banda Marvin Mugume; pioneer student of the KASEKE project, the innovation is very useful for road and work safety. 'It is helps to analyse the needed data. It is hygienic, simple and user friendly, ' he said

The Makerere University units and colleges that are participating in the exhibition include:

- College of Computing and Information Sciences,
- College of Health Sciences,
- Public Relations Office,
- Department of the Academic Registrar and
- Confucius Institute
