DACE Acquires Motorized Tailoring Machines To Boost Students’ Entrepreneurship

In the past few years, the Department of Adult and Community Education (DACE), Makerere University has intensified hands on skills training for its third year students to ensure students graduate with practical employable skills. This has been made possible through the course unit of Entrepreneurship Skills Development and Microfinance Management taught by Mr. Joseph Watuleke. The trainings have many times been conducted through collaboration with partners from outside the university to ensure the that the acquired skills are relevant to the current job market and industry demands.

On March 15, 2018 DACE hosted a team of partners from Step30 International Ministries from Taiwan to Launch the Love Binti Uganda Student Project at the Department. The project aims to train students in Making reusable sanitary pads with the objective of contributing to reduction in school dropouts of the girl child in Ugandan schools. From the training, many third year students of Adult and Community Education offering Entrepreneurship took up the idea and developed a business plan to implement it for both charity and income generation.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13^thDecember 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
