DRGT Recognizes Distinguished Employees of the Year 2018

At a colorful ceremony held on Monday, 28th January 2019, the Directorate of Research and Graduate Training (DRGT) proudly recognized Mr. Allan Kizza as the Employee of the year 2018. Mr. Kizza demonstrated valuable contribution, exemplary work performance, hard-work and dedicated service as Records Officer.

It is a tradition at DRGT, to recognize those employees who have made significant contributions to the vision, mission and strategic imperatives of DRGT. Recognition is aimed at acknowledging those contributions that are beyond the normal job expectations and are consistent with the established core criteria including professionalism, integrity, customer focus, willingness to work in team setting, an enthusiastic employee willing to take up more responsibilities, punctual and dependable; deliver exemplary service and innovation.

Mr. Dickens Piriyo, from the Examination Office emerged as the Runner-Up and was given a Cash token of UGX500,000. To select the Outstanding Employee, we depend on the nominations from the entire University research community including Faculty, Students and Development partners and other stakeholders. Award benefits for the best employee included UGX1,000,000 (One million Shillings), an engraved plaque, bouquet of flowers and songs of Praise and Worship.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
