PhD Luncheon: A Networking Opportunity

Inline with Makerere University’s vision to boost its research capacity, the number of enrolment of PhD students has increased. The School of Graduate Studies has organised a series of cross-cutting courses to strengthen the quality of their research to meet the competitive world class research work.

Inline with Makerere University’s vision to boost its research capacity, the number of enrolment of PhD students has increased. The School of Graduate Studies has organised a series of cross-cutting courses to strengthen the quality of their research to meet the competitive world class research work. These courses present an opportunity to share information and challenges encountered by the PhD research students. These interactions have previoiusly been found to be beneficial to everyone in regard to refining concepts, approaches used in the research and tips on how to go about conducting research work, as well as balancing social, academic and all other spheres of life.

It’s on this note that a suggestion to have an Association in the University, bringing together all the PhD students was made. Therefore, all PhD students in the unversity are invited for a Luncheon to take place on Friday 10th December, 2010 at 1:00pm. The Director School of Graduate Studies will be around to cast the vision for the Association.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
