Payment of Food and Living Out Allowances for Semester II

A group of students holds a discussion in the Freedom Square, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. Date taken: 12th March 2019. The University Secretary informs all students that the process of payment for food and living out allowances has commenced.

Reference is made to the communication from the University Bursar dated 22nd January 2020 regarding the payment of food and living out allowances for the second semester of academic year 2019/2020.

This is to inform you that the process of payment for food and living out allowances has commenced. This process involves transfer of funds from the Integrated Finance Management System (IFMS) to the Subvention Account in Stanbic Bank from where payments shall be made directly to the individual student bank accounts.

The funds are expected to begin reflecting on individual student bank accounts by early next week, depending on the bank clearance processes.

The first batch of payment will cover the following category of allowances:

All Government Sponsored students are reminded to ensure that they are enrolled on the Academic Information Management System (AIMS) as the information used for payment of allowances is generated directly from AIMS. The payment schedule for all eligible students has been published on the University Website. Please ensure that your correct details have been captured.

Students who have not enrolled on AIMS and those who have outstanding payment obligations shall not receive their allowances until enrolment and clearance of any outstanding obligations is made. The respective schedule of students in this category has also been published on the University Website.

UPDATE: 13th February 2020

The process of payment of food and living out allowances for students who enrolled on AIMS and settled all obligations to the University was completed on Monday 10th February, 2020. Please see Downloads for the latest communication.
