Advert: Job Positions of Principal and Deputy Principal

Makerere University seeks to fill the positions of Principal and Deputy Principal of the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT) and the Deputy Principal of the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS). The Colleges of Makerere University are semi-autonomous academic units comprising Schools, Institutes, and Departments that conduct general and professional training and research in various disciplines.

1. POST: PRINCIPAL, CEDAT – 1 position

The Principal is a Top Management position in the University, providing leadership to the College.

Term of office

The Principal is appointed for a term of four years and may be renewed for one further term.

Salary Scale: M3

2. POST: DEPUTY PRINCIPAL – 2 Positions (CEDAT, CoCIS)

The Deputy Principal is a Senior Management position in the University and supports the Principal in providing leadership to the College.

Term of office

The Deputy Principal is appointed for a term of four years and may be renewed for one further term only.

Salary Scale: M4

Mode of application

  1. Interested individuals should submit a letter of application with Curriculum Vitae, copies of relevant Academic Credentials and naming three referees;
  2. Applications should be submitted with at least two reference letters by the stated deadline;
  3. The deadline for submission of applications is 24th April 2023 at 5:00 p.m. East African Time.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
