I am delighted to inform you that three PhD students successfully completed their PhD studies at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. The students were funded under the ICT project; Building Research Capacity in Innovative Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) for Sustainable Socio-economic Growth in Uganda. The project is led by Associate Professor Engineer Bainomugisha (PI)-College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS) and Professor Michel Chaudron, University of Gothenburg (GU), IT Faculty, Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Engineering under the very able coordination of the Directorate of Research and Graduate Training (DRGT). This is another huge accomplishment for DRGT and indeed a special moment.

1. Hawa Nyende

Thesis Title: “Maternal Healthcare in Low-Resource Settings – Investigations of IT as a Resource”

Dr. Nyende is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Information Technology, School of Computing and Informatics Technology, CoCIS.
2. Rashidah Kasauli Namisanvu
Chalmers University of Technology – 10th June 2020
Thesis Title: “Requirements Engineering that Balances Agility of Teams and System-level Information needs at Scale”

- Associate Professor Benjamin Kanagwa
Dr. Namisanvu is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Networks, School of Computing and Informatics Technology, CoCIS.
3. Michael Kizito
University of Gothenburg – 11th June 2020
Thesis Title: “Enacting Ambidextrous IT Governance in Healthcare”

Dr. Kizito is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing and Informatics Technology, CoCIS.
