Mak Alumnus shines at International Centre for Theoretical Physics

Makerere University Alumnus Mr. John Bosco Ssebandeke was on 29th August 2019 awarded the honour as the best performing student in Earth System Physics at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy. The ICTP is a joint institute of UNESCO and International Atomic Energy Agency.

His thesis was entitled "The Benguela Upwelling System: its Representation in CMIP5 and Ocean-Only Models"

Mr. Ssebandeke was admitted to Makerere University in the 2012/2013 Academic Year as a Government Sponsored student on the Bachelor of Science (Physical) programme. He completed his Bachelors degree and MSc. in Physics at the College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS), Makerere University. He has been offered to stay on to process a PhD placement.
