Makerere University Careers Fair 2019

The Makerere University Guidance and Counseling Centre in conjunction with Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program bring you the Annual Careers Fair 2019. The career Fair is a platform where students of Makerere University get an opportunity to interact with prospective employers from the industry. The purpose is to expose students to different players in the market and equip them with the latest information in the employment landscape.

The 2019 Career Fair will take place from 21st to 22nd March 2019, at Central Teaching Facility 2 (CTF2) Auditorium, College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS), starting at 9.00am to 1.00pm on each day.

THEME: Understanding and dealing with 21st Century careers’ trends

Key Speakers:

a) Employment landscape –Future of Work in Africa and beyond – Mr. Lawrence Egulu – Commissioner employment services.
b) Entrepreneurship development – Dr. Charles Ocici, Executive Director, Enterprises Uganda Ltd.
c) Managing expectations – Being resilient when seeking for work – Mr. Sam SSETTUMBA, Business Reporter, NTV
d) Students Preparedness for work after University – Sharing the employers experience and what must be done – Ms. Martha Munnu Omer, Director Human Resources

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

Call for Applications: Admission to Postgraduate Programmes 2026/2027

SoL Graduands celebrate after being conferred upon their awards. 75th Graduation Ceremony, Day 1, CoCIS, CEES, CoVAB and School of Law. 13th January 2025, Freedom Square, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda, East Africa.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
