The Directorate of Research and Graduate Training (formerly School of Graduate Studies) is implementing the Makerere-Sida Bilateral Research Program supported by the Government of Sweden for the years 2010- June 2014.
Postdoctoral
A component of this program supports postdoctoral research as a way of enhancing the gains made in research during Ph.D training. This component provides for competitive research funds up to a maximum of 30,000 US dollars over a period of up to two years.
There are 13 postdoctoral research grants available to be competed for with at least 30 percent of the slots reserved for female Post doctoral candidates.
The deadline for applications is 30th August 2011
PhDs and Masters
A component of this program supports capacity building at Makerere University by providing tuition and research support to approximately 10 PhD and 10 Masters Students who are members of staff as follows:
- 10 competitive PhD scholarships to be competed for by staff of Makerere University from academic units not directly benefiting from the Phase III bilateral Research support
- 10 competitive Masters Scholarships to be competed for by staff from any public university in Uganda (including Makerere University)
The deadline for applications is by 5:00pm, July 30, 2011.
