Improving Doctoral Studies in Uganda

This afternoon the Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has launched the study on improvement of doctoral studies in Uganda. The study by researchers from the Makerere University College of Education and External Studies (CEES) gives insight into the challenges facing doctoral studies and recommends remedies. I thank the researchers for a job well done.

Signing MoU With Dr. Hajjar, President IsDB

The Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe.

I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. Bandar M. H. Hajjar, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) under which the Bank will sponsor 100 Africans every year to study at Makerere University. I thank Dr. Hajjar for this invaluable contribution and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Dr. Umar Kakumba for initiating the negotiations.

Fare Thee Well Eng. Prof. Kerali

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe (2nd R) is joined by Dr. William Tayeebwa (L) and other Academic Staff to pay the last respects to Eng. Prof. Anthony G. Kerali on 23rd February 2021, St. Augustine Chapel, Makerere University.

This morning I joined the Makerere community in bidding farewell to a diligent and dedicated servant of the University, Eng. Professor Anthony Kerali. Professor Kerali served Makerere and Uganda with all his ability and loved his country. Fare thee well our friend.
