Junior Research Fellowships & Research Associateships-India

The University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, India, awards 20 Junior Research Fellowships and 7 Research Associateships every year to scholars (teachers and students) from developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The Fellowships and Associateships are granted to scholars undertaking advanced studies and reserch in Science, Humanities and Social Sciences in Indian Universities and are awarded in concurrence with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The last date of receipt of all applications is 15th March 2012.

Application from foreign nationals, who are already studying in India, will also be considered if they send their applications through the University where they propose to pursue their research work in India duly endorsed by the Embassy/High Commission concerned.

The University Grants Commission does not take the responsibility of providing accommodation in India to selected candidates. The cost of travel to India and return will also not be borne by the UGC.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13^thDecember 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
