Published

on

The ResilientAfrica Network-RAN, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University is in partnership with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) in Nairobi Kenya pursuing different activities for the benefit of those communities in need.

The HLA's work is anchored on three pillars viz Learning, Knowledge and Innovation. In that regard, the Humanitarian Leadership Academy is pleased to announce the launch of a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Humanitarian Essentials.

This 4-week online course is aimed at people who are starting a career in the humanitarian sector, or transitioning from a more development focused role to support a humanitarian response. It’s a great opportunity to join a global learning experience, connect with peers from all over the world and benefit from the feedback of experienced humanitarian professionals.

The course starts on 16 October and ends on 12 November 2017; with a different theme every week:

Week 1: Humanitarian Principles and Standards
Week 2: Understanding the Humanitarian Context
Week 3: Age, Gender and Diversity
    Week 4: Applying Humanitarian Principles

Learners can also take part in discussions and quizzes to check their knowledge, and receive a personalised online certificate at the end of the course.
