Mak FSF Dinner Raises Over UGX90m in Cash & Pledges

On Friday 6th December 2019, all roads led to the Victoria Hall, Kampala Serena Hotel as Makerere University held Resource Mobilization Dinner for Female Scholarship Foundation (FSF). Code named " Drop a 'coin' and forever change a life", the Resource Mobilization Campaign is aimed at ensuring sustainability of the FSF.

The Guest of Honour; First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni was represented by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah, who presented UGX 20million in cash towards the campaign on her behalf.  The Deputy Speaker made a personal UGX 10million pledge, while UGX 63million was raised in cash and pledges from individuals during the dinner.

Prior to the Friday Dinner, the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate (GMD) with support from FSF Alumni who felt the need to give back to Makerere University for giving them an opportunity to acquire university education had raised UGX 30Million shillings.

All funds will be used to support Ugandan girls from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to access university education at Makerere University.
