Malawi Hosts 8th Technical and Advisory Meeting of World Bank ACE II Project Leaders

The 8th Technical and Advisory meeting for the leaders of the World Bank funded African Centres of Excellence (ACE II) project and the 12th Regional Steering Committee meeting has been held at Bingu Wamutharika International Convention Centre (BICC) Lilongwe-Malawi.

The meeting brought together Vice chancellors, Education ministries, leaders of the ACEs from the 24 host institutions and countries, the National and Regional Steering Committees, Inter University Council for East Africa, Consultants   and the World Bank officials.

Makerere University's Vice Chancellor was represented by Prof. Henry Alinaitwe, Principal, College of Engineering, Art, Design and Technology (CEDAT). Directors of the Makerere University, Regional Centre for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI) and the Africa Center of Excellence in Materials, Product Development and Nanotechnology (MAPRONANO) and representatives from the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports also attended the meeting.

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere UniversityĀ has releasedĀ Aptitude Test ExaminationĀ results for theĀ Mature Age Entry Scheme ExaminationsĀ held onĀ Saturday 13thĀ December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
