Staff members (teaching or research) from any of the African THRiVE Institutions (Gulu University, Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College, Makerere University, National University of Rwanda, National Institute of Medical Research-Mwanza, Uganda Virus Research Institute and International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology) are invited to apply for Mini-Sabbaticals and Pump – Priming Grants.
The main objectives of the grants are to:
- Foster collaboration between THRiVE institutes and staff
- Encourage sharing of specialized tools and expertise within the THRiVE network
- Encourage the production and submission of joint proposals for research funding
- Provide resources to develop new research ideas and proposals for funding.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to apply, THRiVE staff members need to submit the following documents:
- A one-page CV outlining the research interests and previous grants held
- For Mini-Sabbaticals, a short description (2-3 pages total) of the proposed research that will be developed.

APPLICATION DEADLINE
For both grants, the deadline for submitting applications is 27th June 2011. Applications should be sent to the Administrator, THRiVE consortium at Makerere University (info@thrive.or.ug, +256 414 530021).
