Call For Applications: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Course

The Makerere University College of Health Sciences within its Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is organizing a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) course on Thursday 23rd – Friday 24th April, 2020. This GCP course is a full time two-day face to face training with certification on successful completion, acknowledged by the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST). A basic understanding of GCP is a pre-requisite as well as current and or past involvement in clinical research and clinical trials in Uganda.

Target Group:
The GCP course is targeted at investigators from hospitals and research institutes, research nurses, clinical trials support staff e.g. staff working in contract research organizations, ethics committee members as well as those seeking to develop a career in clinical research. Certificates will be awarded at the completion of the full two days’ training.

Course Fee:
Payment subsidized course fee of Uganda shillings 250,000/= is payable. This will contribute towards training materials, lunch and refreshments for the whole course.
 
Venue:
MUJHU 3 Video Conference Room.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
