Mak- CDFU exhibition on Gender Based Violence prevention and responses

Makerere University Gender Mainstreaming Directorate in partnership with Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU); with financial support from UN Women has organized a two days’ exhibition under the theme: Gender Based Violence prevention and responses.  Several stakeholders including; UN Agencies, government agencies, universities, Civil Society Organizations, and private sector; managing Gender Based Violence Issues in Uganda are participating in the exhibition.

Running from 29th-30 November 2018, in the Makerere University Freedom Square, the exhibition is one of the activities scheduled for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV). Other activities include; a session for students on Gender Based Violence conducted by Medical Doctors, Lawyers, and counselors; signing up as HeForShe champions, and a dialogue on ending Gender Based Violence in Institutions of Learning and places of work.

The Dialogue is scheduled to take place on 30th November 2018, in the Makerere University Freedom Square and will be attended by students and staff from Makerere University, representatives of various CSOs, UN Agencies, Government representatives, and student representatives from 8 universities in Uganda.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

Call for Applications: Admission to Postgraduate Programmes 2026/2027

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
