Huawei in partnership with the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS), Makerere University and the Ministry of Education and Sports on 8th March 2018 launched the third edition of the Huawei Seeds for the Future program 2018.
The Huawei Seeds for the Future program which started in 2016 is an all-expense-paid two-week program to China (one week in Beijing and one week in Shenzhen). The program allows 10 students (seeds) to develop their ICT skills, gain practical international work experience, and receiving an introduction to Chinese language and culture that will prepare them for an increasingly interconnected global job market.

- University evaluates and selects applicants.
- University sends selected candidates to the AfDB.
- AfDB reviews submissions from universities, prepares and approves the final list.
- AfDB contacts selected awardees, and informs the universities.
