Outsourcing of Student Catering Services

Following the Makerere University Council Policy to outsource catering services in the University, the Dean of Students wishes to inform all Students, Staff and members of the University community of the current changes and guidelines towards the implementation exercise

Contracted Firms

The following firms have been contracted to provide catering services through six food centres with effect from August 16, 2014

  1. Venus Meas Enterprises – University Hall
  2. Rema Restaurant and Take Away – Nkrumah Hall
  3. Finaland Bars and Restaurant – Mary Stuart Hall
  4. Bbosa Institutional Catering Services – Africa Hall
  5. Bbosa Institutional Catering Services – Galloway House
  6. Bbosa Institutional Catering Services – Kabanyolo Hostel

Any Student, Staff, Member of the University community or Visitor will be served meals at any of the six centres listed above, provided they meet the Mode of Payment terms

Mode of Payment

a) All Resident government sponsored students will be served meals and the money for food will be paid directly to the service provider

b) Private Students may negotiate with the service provider over the menu and pay for food directly at any centre of their choice

c) Service Providers will have alternative menus for clients who can afford meals at higher prices.

Diploma Holders Admission Lists under Government Sponsorship for 2026/2027 AY

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released lists of Diploma holders admitted under the Government Sponsorship Scheme for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Under the Diploma Holders Government Sponsorship Scheme admission does not exceed 5% of the intake capacity to the respective Degree Programme.

Mature Age Examination Results for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

Candidates who scored a minimum of 50% passed and have been recommended by the Pre-Entry & Mature Age Committee to the University’s Admissions Committee for consideration.

The Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027 can be accessed by following this link.
