Makerere-CURAD Call for Agribusiness Incubatees

The Consortium for enhancing University Responsiveness to agribusiness Development (CURAD) is a public-private partnership initiative promoted by Makerere University, the National Union of Coffee Agribusinesses and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE), National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) and NIRAS international. CURAD is an agribusiness incubator supported by DANIDA and executed by FARA’s Unibrain facility.

CURAD has in place a revolving fund to support incubatee’s to develop their agri-businesses to sustainable levels while paying back to CURAD to sustain its activities in a mutually beneficial arrangement.

CURAD hereby invites expressions of interest for potential incubatees in the coffee value chain and general food processing to apply for business incubation at CURAD incubation center, located at the Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyolo (MUARIK). The target applicants are both new and established graduates, small scale firms and the general public interested in agribusiness.

Additionally, Are you an undergrad or post graduate student?, do you have a Brilliant Agribusiness idea you want to pursue but lack capital, experience and business acumen? Are you looking to earn from your business idea as you learn about entrepreneurship and practical business management?

You can learn on the job through CURAD’s apprenticeship business component called Earn As You Learn (EAYL). There will be two categories of incubatees under EAYL.
i) CURAD will offer the incubatee full business support to start developing the business idea and turn it into a profit earning business
ii) CURAD will find already existing businesses where incubatees will be placed to have an experience in a company or factory and CURAD will ensure the incubates earns a modest salary

Special University Entry Examinations for the Diploma in Performing Arts 2026/27

Students from the Department of Performing Arts on 4th April 2025.

The Academic Registrar Makerere University invites applications for the Special University Entry Examinations for admission to the Diploma in Performing Arts.

The examination will take place on Saturday 16th May, 2026.

Application process is online for those intending to sit the examination. Kindly note that there is payment of a non-refundable application fee of Shs. 110,000/- excluding bank charges in any (Stanbic Bank, Dfcu Post Bank, UBA and Centenary Bank). After filling the online application, you will be provided with 2 Past Papers.

To be eligible to sit the examinations, the candidate must possess an O’ Level Certificate (UCE) with at least 5 Passes.

The deadline for receiving the online applications is Tuesday 12th May 2026.

How to Apply

  • Application is online for ALL applicants.
  • Other relevant information can be obtained from Undergraduate Mature Age Office, Level 5, Room 505, Senate Building, Makerere University or can be accessed from https://see.mak.ac.ug
  • A non refundable application fee of Shs. 110,000= for Ugandans, East Africans Applicants (Including S. Sudan & DRC) OR US $ 75 or equivalent for international applicants plus bank charges should be paid in any of the banks used by Uganda Revenue Authority.

Diploma Holders Admission Lists under Government Sponsorship for 2026/2027 AY

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released lists of Diploma holders admitted under the Government Sponsorship Scheme for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Under the Diploma Holders Government Sponsorship Scheme admission does not exceed 5% of the intake capacity to the respective Degree Programme.

Mature Age Examination Results for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

Candidates who scored a minimum of 50% passed and have been recommended by the Pre-Entry & Mature Age Committee to the University’s Admissions Committee for consideration.

The Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027 can be accessed by following this link.
