Guidelines on Fees Payment via the URA Portal

This is to inform you that following the closure of all University Revenue Collection accounts, all fees payments are to be received via the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) portal.

The implications of this change are as follows;

1.    Fees payment will continue to happen in commercial banks most of which have branches on Campus as listed below;
i.    Stanbic Bank
ii.    DFCU Bank
iii.    Centenary Bank
iv.    UBA
v.    Post Bank

I have had the pleasure to meet Mr. Ssuubi Henry Kiyimba the student who was mercilessly attacked on social media as unfit to come to Makerere University. I have encouraged him to enjoy his stay at Makerere and work hard on his future career. Ssuubi was admitted to Makerere on Government Sponsorship - National Merit Scheme, Bachelor of Science with Education (Economics).

The Chairperson of Makerere University Council Mrs. Lorna Magara on 6th August 2019 together with Council members visited the Kiira Motors Vehicle Production Facilities in Jinja. On arrival, they were welcomed by the Executive Chairman Kiira Motors Corporation, Prof. Sandy Stevens Tickodri-Togboa together the Company’s CEO, Mr. Paul Isaac Musasizi.

The Makerere University Council and Management have finalized the procedures for upgrading and beautifying the legendary Makerere University Freedom Square into a modern 21st century green space. The project that kicked off in July 2019, will be implemented by Prime Media Network in a phased approach.

Mak freshers orientation: students tipped on safety and health

Mr. Sai Charan, escorted by his parents the the Freshers Orientation Meeting held on 5th August 2019. Mr. Charan will be pursuing a Bachelors Degree of Medicine and Dental Surgery.

At the beginning of each academic year, Makerere University organizes the Students Orientation Meeting which presents an opportunity to the University Administration to interact with new students. According to the Deputy Registrar, Undergraduate Admissions and Records Mr. Charles Ssentongo, during this meeting, students are given a comprehensive package that appeals to their academic and social wellbeing.

“They also receive relevant information and knowledge crucial to their stay at the university,” he mentioned.
