NOTICE: Bachelor of Laws Pre-Entry Examination For 2020/2021 Academic Year

The Academic Registrar Makerere University announces that the Bachelor of Laws Pre-entry Examination for the 2020/2021 academic year is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday 3rd October 2020 while observing the Ministry of Health standard operating procedures (SOPs).

All candidates who applied to sit the Bachelor of Laws Pre-entry Examination 2020/2021 are hereby invited to come and sit for the said examination on 3rd October, 2020.  The examination will commence at 9.00 a.m.

The examination will be conducted following the Ministry of Health guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against the spread of COVID-19 as listed below in order to ensure that the applicants take the examination under a safe and comfortable environment.

  1. Measuring everyone’s temperature before accessing the examination venue
  2. Availing hand sanitizers in the examination rooms for use by all candidates
  3. Mandatory wearing of face masks by all candidates and examination officials
  4. Social distancing with candidates seated 2 – 4 meters apart from one another
  5. All windows to be opened to promote circulation of fresh air
  6. Candidates will not be permitted to borrow items (pen, pencil, rubber, ruler, calculators) from each other.  Candidates are reminded to carry sufficient items needed to write the examination.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
