Mak Students Guild Constitution (Elections) Regulations No.1 of 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Makerere University Council by Sections 41(d) and 69(1) (a) of The Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001, (as amended) and in conformity with Section 1(3) of The Students Guild Constitution as amended in February, 2016, these Makerere University Students Guild Constitution (Elections) Regulations are made this 6th day of December, 2018.

PART I PRELIMINARY
1. Title

These Regulations may be cited as the Makerere University Students Guild Constitution (Elections) Regulations No.1 of 2018

2. Application
These Regulations shall apply to the Guild Elections of the Makerere University Students Guild.

PART II THE OBJECTIVES OF THE REGULATIONS
4. Objectives

The purpose of the Regulations shall be to:
(a) Provide for clearance of candidates for nomination to all positions of the Guild Leadership.

(b) Ensure that Guild Campaigns and Elections are implemented easily and without interruption and or causing difficulty or interference with other University activities or programs.

(c) Create a defined and reasonable time frame within which the Guild campaigns and elections are held.

(d) Prohibit hooliganism and other negative and or offensive conduct by aspiring candidates and or their supporters.

(e) Ensure that all aspiring candidates, election officials and the entire students' body observe and uphold University Regulations during the Guild election period.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
