A delegation from Makerere University visited the International Science Programme (ISP), Uppsala University and collaborating universities in Sweden 2-6 March, 2015 to discuss the next Sida bilateral phase, starting 1 July 2015. Part of the delegation was Professor Buyinza Mukadasi, Director of Research and Graduate Training; Dr. Vincent Ssembatya, Director Quality Assurance Directorate; Robert Ngobi, Manager Quality Assurance Directorate and Dr. John Mango, Deputy Principal, College of Natural Science-CoNAS.
Special emphasis was put on quality assurance of postgraduate activities, including strengthening the supervision of PhD students at Makerere University. The Sida bilateral program with Makerere has so far had three phases and is now moving on to the fourth phase later this year, which monetary wise is the largest.
The mathematics program will compose a big share of the bilateral program with Makerere University, and therefore has the opportunity to expand its activities in the coming years.
