The Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH)/Institute of Tropical Medicine – Antwerp (ITM-A) Institutional Collaboration has received a grant
from the Belgian Government under the 3rd Framework Agreement with the ITM-A, to implement a multi-year project aimed at capacity building for strengthening of the district health system in Uganda. The partners are introducing a Training Programme leading to the award of a Fellowship in Health Systems Management. The project is jointly implemented by the Makerere University School of Public Health, the Ministry of Health in Uganda, and the Uganda Public Health Specialists Association (UPHSA), as well as the Public Health Department at the ITM-Antwerp (Belgium).
The philosophy of the Fellowship Programme is to support Health Services Managers currently working in the health system to acquire competencies to manage a wide range of health systems’ challenges and develop programmes leading to better health care delivery and improved health for the people in their area of jurisdiction.
The candidate’s application should include the following;

Scholarship
The Fellows will be expected to pay UGX 1,000,000/= (One million Ugandan shillings only) for registration for one year of the programme. Ten (10) Scholarships are available to cover tuition costs for the Fellowship and have to be competed for. The Fellows will be expected to cover their living costs.
