RAN signs MOU with UDB-Inaugurate UDB i-Growth Accelerator 2017

On Tuesday December 12th 2017, Uganda Development Bank Limited (UDBL) in partnership with Makerere University's RAN Innovation Lab launched the UDB i-Growth Accelerator 2017. This is an initiative that will foster Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the recognition, promotion, reward, incubation and acceleration of outstanding start-up enterprises.

“The i-Growth Accelerator program will be an annual initiative that will support individuals to grow and expand their start-up enterprises in all sectors” remarked Ms. Patricia Ojangole the CEO of UDBL.

For 2017, the Accelerator will focus on the Agriculture and Manufacturing sectors under the theme; ‘Towards a Smart and Sustainable Agricultural and Manufacturing Sector’.

Prof Bazeyo during his keynote address noted that the RAN Innovation lab has been engaging in innovation activities for the past 5 years galvanizing a diverse array of stakeholders from private and public sectors to support innovation. To date the lab has a portfolio of over 200 funded and non-funded innovations that have been supported.

“We want to position Uganda as the Silicon Valley of Africa because we have the potential” Prof Bazeyo remarked.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13^thDecember 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
