Mak On-line Application Instructions

On-line Application is for the applicants who sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate (UACE) and application instructions are as below.

Visit the website http://application.mak.ac.ug/eisweb/

After accessing the website, click on the Academic Year "2011/2012" link and thereafter, it will display a form with five pages.

Page 1 has the “Biological”
Fill in all your Biographical information, ensuring that no field is left empty and thereafter, proceed to the next page by clicking “Next”

Page 2 has the “Program Applications”
This is where you fill in all the six choices of your preferred programmes. There is also a “Search” feature to help you search for the programmes you wish to apply for. (Ensure that you choose the correct codes)

Page 3 has the “Subject Combinations”
On this page please select the subject combinations you would wish to enroll for. This applies to programmes in Education, Sciences and Humanities.

Page 4 has the “Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education”
Select the “Center Number” of the A-Level School, enter your “Index No” and the “Year of Exam” during which you sat for your A-Level exams. Your A-Level results will then be displayed below. If not, manually select the subjects under “Subject” and the corresponding grades under “Grade”.

Page 5 has the “Uganda Certificate of Education”
Select the “Center Number” of the O-Level School, enter your “Index No” and the “Year of Exam” during which you sat for your O-Level exams. Your O-Level results will then be displayed below. If not, manually select the subjects under “Subject” and the corresponding grades under “Grade”.

The last step is to “Save Application” then a “Ten-digit number” will be generated, which you will fill out on your bank slips as provided. (Please print that slip generated for future reference).

Pay the application fee of fifty thousand shillings (50,000 UGX) for Ugandans and US $75 for International Applicants excluding bank charges. The Bank Charges are 2,500 UGX and 2,000 UGX for Stanbic Bank and Dfcu Bank respectively.

The closing date for submitting the completed application forms or On-line applications is Tuesday 2nd June, 2011.

Applicants are strongly warned against presenting forged or other people’s academic documents to support their applications for admission.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13th December 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

Call for Applications: Admission to Postgraduate Programmes 2026/2027

SoL Graduands celebrate after being conferred upon their awards. 75th Graduation Ceremony, Day 1, CoCIS, CEES, CoVAB and School of Law. 13th January 2025, Freedom Square, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda, East Africa.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
