Carnegie Corporation of New York has extended support to Makerere University to implement the project titled: “Building, Nurturing and Retaining the next generation of African Academics” under the broad theme of Food, Nutrition and Value Addition.
Carnegie Corporation of New York has extended support to Makerere University to implement the project titled: “Building, Nurturing and Retaining the next generation of African Academics” under the broad theme of Food, Nutrition and Value Addition.
Part of this grant will support fourteen (14) emerging Junior Academics (at least 50% women) to complete their Masters degrees, and the other, twenty (20) emerging Junior Academics (at least 30% women) to complete their Doctoral degrees, by providing tuition and research funds.
Expected Outcomes
Masters – excellent graduates mentored to embark on research that will contribute to national development and be part of the international community of scholars.
PhDs – excellent PhD graduates that would bring dynamism in the university, contribute to national development and be part of the international community of scholars.
Applicants must be members of academic staff at Makerere University from any discipline
Level of support
Support includes tuition and research costs based on activities.
