IDI COVID-19 Sample Collection from Staff

A COVID-19 sample collection site has been set up at the Infectious Diseases Institute-McKinnell Knowledge Centre (IDI-MKC), Makerere University and availed with materials like; COVID-19 collection kit, Nasal and oral swabs. It is great that IDI is collecting samples from staff who are at the frontline of fighting COVID-19

Bidding Farewell to H.E. Per Lindgärde

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe (R) hands over a portrait to the outgoing Ambassador of Sweden to Uganda, H.E. Per Lindgärde (L) during his farewell visit on 21st June 2021, CTF1, Makerere University.

There was joy and yet a hard time when I bid farewell to H.E. Per Lindgarde, the Swedish Ambassador this afternoon. Makerere has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the Embassy during his tenure and I wish him good health and success in his next assignment.

I launched three publications by AfriChild Centre and Makerere researchers on the role of research on children welfare. Children are our future and we must take good care of them.
