Pedal Tap Lead Innovator Attends BIG IDEAS 2016/2017 Awards Ceremony

”It was an honour to have been the first winner from Makerere University to attend the BIG Ideas 2016/2017 awards ceremony” exclaimed Grace Nakibaala, Lead Innovator on the Pedal Tap Innovation. At the awards event, Grace represented the Pedal Tap team which took part in the competition and won first place in the Scaling Up category, scooping USD 8,000 only. ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) a partner of the BIG Ideas competition facilitates and supports students from Makerere University to participate in the BIG Ideas Contest.

The awards ceremony took place on May 3rd, 2017 at the Blum Centre for Developing Economics at University of California Berkley, USA. Leveraging from the power of collaboration, the BIG Ideas team took care of Grace’s accommodation and entire stay at the University of California. ”I was able to tour the university and also engage with judges and mentors especially at the award ceremony” added an excited Innovator-Nakibaala.

Aptitude Exam (Paper 1) Results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme 2026/2027

The Office of Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released Aptitude Test Examination results for the Mature Age Entry Scheme Examinations held on Saturday 13^thDecember 2025.

The Candidates who scored 50% and above in the aptitude test passed the aptitude examination and will have their programme -specific examination paper marked. Those who scored less than 50% failed.

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a Chartered University at the time of completion. Applicants should also possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (or its equivalent) and a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (or its equivalent).

Sponsorship:

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY-SPONSORED. Therefore, applicants seeking sponsorship should have their applications endorsed by their respective sponsors where applicable. Applicants should note that the various fees payable to the University indicated for the various programmes EXCLUDE functional fees, accommodation, books, research and other expenses.
