A delegation from the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) was on Wednesday 26th September 2018 hosted by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni at the State House in Nakasero. The delegation included the Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, RUFORUM Executive Secretary-Prof. Adipala Ekwamu and other officials.

Pure Bliss as Uganda Hosts and Wins the 3rd FISU World University Netball Championship

As soon as the final whistle was blown, jubilations and celebrations erupted among Ugandans who had come to cheer the Mighty Cranes during the final match of the 3rd World University Netball Championship. Hosts Uganda beat defending Champions South Africa 44-43 in the highly anticipated, hotly competitive Final Game.

Hosts Uganda made a late recovery to upset favourites South Africa in the World University Netball Championship.

Uganda edged the Spar Proteas 44-43 in the final minutes of the tension packed final at Makerere University’s new indoor facility.

Towering goal shooter Mary Nuba was the day’s heroine as she made the decisive shot that gave Uganda the title.

USA Registers First WUNC Win

Students of Makerere University cheered on Team USA as they registered their first win against Singapore at the 3rd FISU WUNC2018 on Day4 Thursday, 20th September 2018, Kampala Uganda.

World University Netball Championship - September 17 to 21

USA registered their first ever win at the World University Netball Championship on Day 4, Thursday 20th September 2018 by beating Singapore.

The Americans, losers of all their matches in the first two editions of the biennial competition, took on Singapore after four consecutive losses in Kampala event hosted by Makerere University.

Then team captain Amara Mbionwu led her side to their best ever performance.
