Re-advertisement: Graduate Programmes 2018/2019

The Academic Registrar, Makerere University invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degree Programmes) for the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Applicants should have obtained at least a first or second class degree (or its equivalent) from a recognized and chartered university/institution at the time of completion.

MakRun2018: The Push Towards a Centre that Reflects Dynamism of the 21st Century Student

On Sunday, 25th March 2018, thousands of participants comprising staff, students, alumni, friends and well-wishers assembled in the Freedom Square for the Makerere University Endowment Fund Run (MakRun) 2018. The Second Edition of the MakRun started with aerobics by 6:00am and at exactly 7:00am, the Chief Runner, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Ow'ekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga who is also an alumnus of the University flagged off the 5km, 10km and 15km route runners.

The Africa Centre of Excellence for Water Management (ACEWM) is a new initiative of the World Bank Group and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia through the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) regional Center of Excellence Project to be hosted by the Addis Ababa University (AAU).

ACEWM graduate programs primary purpose is providing education that address national, regional and international water issues: training the next generation of water educators, researchers, managers, and professionals; and promoting outreach.

The Intra-Africa Academic mobility Project: Partnership for Training Scientist in Crop Improvement for Food Security in Africa (SCIFSA) funded by the EU has sponsored 32 to participate in the upcoming Mak Run 2018 scheduled on Sunday 25th March 2018.Of the 32 tickets, 20 are for students and 12 for staff.

The EU under its Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme has provided funding to support training of graduate students in African universities.

It was yet another fulfilling and exciting afternoon on Wednesday March 21, 2018 as we witnessed the launch of RAN’s own PedalTap - a retrofittable and affordable, hands-free foot operated water-dispensing device that improves hand hygiene, reduces infection spread and minimizes water waste at College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology, Conference Hall, Makerere University.

Makerere University Chancellor Prof. Ezra Suruma has called upon all stakeholders of Makerere University to join the Katikkiro of Buganda Ow’ekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga in the Makerere University Run that is scheduled to take place this Sunday 25th March 2018. Addressing journalists on 22nd March 2018, the Chancellor said that the Run is not only geared towards resource mobilisation but it is also a platform for building synergies among stakeholders.
