Private Sponsorship Admission Lists for Mature-Age, Degree Holders and Diploma Entry 2017/2018

The new CHUSS Building on University Road

The Office of the Academic Registrar, Makerere University has released the admission lists for Privately sponsored students for Mature Age Entry Scheme, Degree holders and Diploma Entry Scheme for the Academic Year 2017/2018.

Please note that First Year privately sponsored students must pay 60% tuition and all functional fees using provisional admission letters before picking their original copies.

The Global Technovation Challenge is an annual global technology entrepreneurship program and competition for girls around the world between the ages of 10 to 18. The program instills in these girls, key skills in mobile application development, entrepreneurship, problem solving and team work. Activities of the Global Technovation Challenge in Uganda are coordinated by the Makerere University School of Public Health ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) Eastern Africa Resileince Innovation Lab (EA RILab) under the RAN4Gals initiative.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration), Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe has appealed to Makerere University staff to be principled and result oriented.

Prof. Nawangwe was on Thursday (13th July, 2017) speaking to a congregation at Makerere University Guest House during the farewell party of Mrs. Mary K. Tizikara, the former Director Human Resources.

During a high level meeting held on Tuesday 18th July 2017, the Ambassador of Israel to Uganda, H.E Yahel Villan and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) of Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe agreed that Makerere University would take the lead in the adoption of Israeli technology for Uganda’s development.

On Saturday the 15th of July 2017, some of the RAN student interns were privileged to take part in the celebration of World Youth Skills day in an event organized by Challenges Worldwide and the Innovation Village in Ntinda, Kampala Uganda. Following the theme “Skills development to improve youth employment,” the afternoon offered many workshops on practical employability skills and career advice, alongside practical sessions to build self-confidence, good work ethics and maintaining a healthy online and offline professional image as an employee.

The RAN team under the leadership of Prof. William Bazeyo, RAN Chief of Party and Lab Director joined a delegation from Uganda’s Ministry of Finance, Parliament, of Uganda, Uganda Development Bank, National Planning Authority and Uganda Industrial Research Institute for the Global Sustainable Finance Conference in Germany. This conference guided by the theme "Financing Innovations for Sustainability” was held on July 13-14, 2017.  Hon. Gabriel Adjedra, State Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development led Uganda’s delegation to the conference.
