Following the successful sessions held in October 2016, on Friday 24th and Saturday February 25th  2017, Makerere University School of Public Health- ResilientAfrica Network (RAN)  in partnership with ENVenture Enterprises hosted a two-day boot camp event. This engagement brought together representatives from 10 Community Based Organizations (CBO’s) alongside their business development fellows/coaches from various parts of Uganda.

As is the custom on every last Friday of the month, The ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) lab, Makerere University hosted the 17th innovation garage on the 24th of February 2017. The garage organised in partnership with the Innovation Consortium to be a platform where innovators can pitch their ideas before a multidisciplinary audience including industry experts and engage in discussions for refinement. The Innovation Garage is guided by the theme “Catalyzing Engineering Solutions”

During the Second Session held on Wednesday 22nd February 2017 in the Freedom Square, a total of 4, 483 graduands were presented to the Chancellor, Prof. Ezra Suruma for conferment of Makerere University and award of diplomas in the respective disciplines.

Dr. Alex Moseson, Director of the Innovation for International Development (I2D) Lab at Purdue University  visited the RAN Innovation Lab, School of Public Health, Makerere University on Monday February 20th, 2017. The College of Engineering, Purdue University is one of the Top-10 in the US, addressing grand challenges like the Sustainable Development Goals.   Dr. Moseson was previously an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow at USAID, on the Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) team.

The ceremony was presided over by the Chancellor, Prof. Ezra Suruma and also attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, the Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda.

The Makerere University 67th Graduation Ceremony has kicked off today 21st February 2017 with a total of two hundred sixty one (261) students graduating with first class degrees in their respective courses. Set to be presided over by the Chancellor Prof. Ezra Suruma, the four day ceremony will run from 21st to 24th February 2017.
